CULTUROLOGICAL AND GENDER-BASED APPROACH TO THE STUDY OF PERSONALITY TYPE CREATIVE
N.A. Konopleva

The work devoted to the gender bases of creativity and a creative personality in culture is an example of  applied research aimed at analyzing of the sociocultural typology of personality in the sphere of fine arts.

A research of the gender basis of creativity and creative personality in the area of Russian fine art encompassing the periods of the late 19th  - early 20th centuries and late 20th- early 21st centuries has been conducted. The outcomes of the research allowed to make a conclusion that despite the fact that gender is a complex sociocultural construct which can be characterized by certain differences in behavior roles, mental and emotional peculiarities between "male" and "female" models determined by a society and culture, a cultural identity of a creative personality demonstrates a fusion and certain combination of male and female personal qualities. Regarding all this, it can be stated that a creative personality is a special cultural and anthropological reality which reduces a socio-cultural opposition of "male-female" notions and acquires in a process of cultural identity forming certain complimentary gender characteristics of masculinity and femininity contributing to the formation of an androgynous type of personality.
